Before & After School Care
GENERAL INFORMATION
Schaeffer Academy Before and After School Care provides a safe, creative, and friendly environment for Schaeffer Academy students. We offer a variety of activities including recreation and games, arts and crafts, reading, devotionals, snack/fellowship time, homework time, and enrichment opportunities. Each day consists of structured, planned activities and free-choice time. Our goal is to glorify God by serving parents and helping students make good use of their time before and after school. We help them get some work done, have some fun, develop friendships, and grow in their faith.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Before and After School Care is open on scheduled school days. It will be closed on days when school is not scheduled (holidays, teacher work days, etc. See school calendar).
Before School 6:00-8:30 AM
All Schaeffer students (K-12) who enter the building before 8:15 AM must be enrolled in Before School Care.
After School 3:15-6:00 PM (or from early dismissal until 6:00 PM)
All Schaeffer students (K-12) who remain on campus after 3:15 PM must be enrolled in After School Care or another official school program (sports practice, drama rehearsal, etc.).
CARE PLANS AND FEES
There are two care plans available for families: Full-Time (Contracted) and Part-Time (Drop-In).
Full-time (contracted) care is designed for families who need care on a consistent, full-time basis. Full-time families agree to pay for their contracted hours on all school days and therefore receive a lower rate (see below). Families may contract for before school, after school or both. Payment for full-time (contracted care) is due in advance on the first of every month.
Part-time (drop-in) care is designed for families who need more flexible care. These families will notify the director of their needs in writing (using the scheduling form), by email, or by phone (for last-minute arrangements/changes). These families may use the program as needed. There is no minimum requirement for participation. Families who select this option may switch to the full-time (contracted) option at any time should their needs change. Charges for part-time (drop-in) care will be billed at the end of each month. Payment will be due by the 15th of the following month for part-time (drop-in care).
