Schaeffer Academy is seeking a full-time or part-time English teacher for courses ranging from 7th through 12th grade. Ideal candidate has BA/BS in English and Education and expertise and experience in classroom language instruction. The English coursework in the middle and upper school years builds on the foundation of grammar in the lower school, emphasizes effective writing in the middle school through application of formal and informal logic, and is built on a high value for the canon of excellent literature from the western civilization of which we are a part. Spanish Teacher
Schaeffer Academy is seeking a half-time Spanish Teacher for grade 10-12 (levels 1, 2, 3). Ideal candidate has BA/BS in Spanish and Education and expertise and experience in classroom language instruction. The Foreign Language program begins with Language Enrichment through Latin in kindergarten, formal study of Latin in all lower and middle school years, and 3 years of high school Spanish for all students. Pre-School and Extended Day Programs
Schaeffer Academy is seeking staff for its before-after school care program and a pre-school program developer/director. This could be a full-time position for a qualified candidate, or could be split or job-shared for multiple candidates depending on qualifications and program enrollment. Ideal candidates for the pre-school developer/director have BA/BS in elementary or early childhood education, and expertise and experience in classroom settings with young learners preparing for a classical Christian education program. The program director will be responsible for overseeing the fall 2019 opening of Schaeffer Academy's pre-K program, including state approvals and program design.
 
Ideal candidates for the before/after care position(s) have experience with children in group settings and an interest supporting the Schaeffer Academy mission. The extended day program at Schaeffer operates 6:00am-7:30 and 2:45-6:00pm on school days, and abbreviated hours on weather-cancelation days. Substitute Teachers
Schaeffer Academy is seeking substitute teachers. Applicants for a substitute teacher position at Schaeffer Academy must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher and have related experience with school age children. We are looking for candidates who not only possesses the required qualifications but who anticipates longevity in the position and is truly enthusiastic about the work and supporting the mission of the school.
