Schaeffer's 2008 spring production was The Curious Savage, by John Patrick, performed to an audience of approximately 450 over two nights on March 14 and 15.

 

The play featured senior AJ Knodel as Student Director and Set Director. She was responsible for casting, rehearsal, set design and construction.  AJ,  a National Merit Finalist, has been accepted into the Theater Dept. at Baylor University for fall 2008.

 

The cast included eleven students in grades 7 through 12.  The Curious Savage involved a wealthy heiress, Mrs. Ethel Savage, who is committed to a sanitarium by her greedy stepchildren.  The tables are turned as we come to see the inmates as more sane, humane, kind and affectionate than the supposedly sane outside world.  The cast included Derek Dunbar, Jared Goedhart, Zack Goedhart, Ben McCully, Anne Medberry, Elizabeth Michelson, Andrea Petersen, Marcie Ratliff, Macai Orth, Michael Schneekloth, and Hannah Steer.
